French iTunes law goes into effect

A closely watched French law that allows regulators to force Apple Computer Inc. to make its iPod player and iTunes online store compatible with rival offerings went into effect Thursday.

Apple, Coca Cola join forces for 70 million free downloads.
Apple is teaming up with Coca-Cola in Europe to give away about 70 million songs on its market-leading iTunes Music Store — more than a third of the total number of songs it has sold there to date.
