I heard once that Kazaa considers if “theft of service” to uswe Kazaa ++/Kazaa Lite and avoid their banner ads and adware. I used it for a long time with proxies, to avoid being traced, so that Kazaa could not get me for theft of service.

I finally said f*** this and started using legal music and movie services, like Rhapsody and Netflix. I got tired of having to wait up to 2 hours for a music download or 15 hours for a movie download, just to avoid being traced and criminally prosecuted by Kazaa on theft of service charges.

If you ARE going to use this, use a proxy server so that Kazaa, itself, cannot trace you. I heard once that Kazaa does take a harder line. While the RIAA will generally just want to take all your money, Kazaa would likely persue crminial charges, with penalties of up to 5 years, depending on the state.
