i couldn't tell you step by step but the way i found how to download on my Mac was going to Youtube and searching for what your trying to do. If you're talking about how to download and open a torrent then what I use is called Transmission to open the torrent and then just Google what your trying to download and put "torrent" behind it and it will pop up with the sites you can download the torrent from. That is the basics behind it but I don't want to confuse you so just Youtube it. Probably type in something like "how to download a torrent using a Mac" and make sure you put in that your using a Mac otherwise you might get something that is not compatible with Mac or doesn't run that smooth. Hope that helps you some. Cheers!!!
