This app is the shiznit, but requires some TLC to bring it to it's full potential. Open port 6346 in firewall and router. Patch Windows XP SP2/Vista's half-open TCP/IP connections limit (google it). In settings, enable g1 and ED2K, as only g2 enabled by default. Adjust connection settings to reflect 80% of your max upload and download bandwidth. In advanced settings, increase the time Shareaza remembers g1 sources, and if necessary, import a g1 server IP or two from a known gnutella web cache list to get it going. And don't forget to download or import an ED2K server.met file. Google that which you do not readily understand for more info. If you just don't feel like it, Limewire could always use the additiona adware revenue, and I'll still have you as a source, (only ad free on my end)! |

Shareaza is the absolute worst P2P sharing program I have ever used and here is why. I have tried to use it on many different systems and I always get the same inability to search and/or slow download speeds.
This time around, I took the time to make sure I had done all setup and port forwarding properly, but it made no difference. In fact, it made things worse.
I am a professional with computers, but I guess I am not a big enough networking expert to use this program. Unless you are some networking master-mind, this program is not for you. Stay away. |

My favorite App for Gnutella.
I like the nice Interface and the Power Mode, Library is also nice.
I use it for over 2 years now.
