LimeWire has released beta version 2.4.0 of their gnutella client. The new beta seems to connect faster to the network, and on a side note, it now contains a tab for the LimeShop service in the actual program. Will the onslaught of adware ever end? You can get the new beta here.

This version goes back to fix and improve on a lot of existing
features. LimeWire 2.4 works better and uses less computer resources. We
have worked to improve some network inefficiencies.

Here are the major changes to this version:
* Major performance and memory improvements.
* New wishlist feature allows you to schedule future downloads.
* Increased Ultrapeer connectivity allowing better searches.
* Connect to the network faster and regain lost connections faster.
* Fixed “99% download bug” and some downloads will complete more
quickly.
* Fixed bug where certain old incomplete files would be ignored.
* Reduce bandwidth usage from requeries.
* Vendor column shown in connection tab.
* Remote-IP header is sent allowing future auto-firewall detection.
* About menu thanks all contributors.
* We detect corrupt files from swarming and will log them shortly.
* No new uploads begin when in “shutdown after transfers” mode.

LimeWire has recently been doing a lot of network research that should
help improve the Gnutella network over the next three or four months.

Here are all the best features of LimeWire:
* Ease of use – just install, run, and search
