When I was younger you could "tape" a song off the radio. The radio broadcasts the song for free to anyone with a radio. In like manner you could tape a movie off of HBO with no commercials. So, how is that different than downloading the movie or the song? Granted one pays a fee to have HBO and radio is full of commercials, but I have never heard of anyone being sued over taping a show off of HBO or taping a song from the radio. So, how is downloading that same content that much different, where the music and movie industry decides to sue over it? I mean people have been able to tape things for free since tapes were invented.
