The Pirate Bay Surpasses 23 Million Peers

Swedish BitTorrent tracker site applies to the Guinness Book of World Records to be the world’s largest.

The Pirate Bay is running full throttle these days with a recent blog posting remarking on the site’s recent surge in connected peers.

It’s only been a week since reaching the 22 million mark and already its grown in excess of 23.3 million.

From TPB blog:

Wtf is going on — we just broke 20 million peers, than 22 million. Today we broke 23 million peers, it’s just a week since we broke 22. And it’s not like 23.000.000 something, it was 23.3 million peers. We’re going to break 25 within the week if this keeps on going!

It’s amazing! Keep it coming, tell your friends to share more and more, we just applied for Guinness and it would be amazing if the record would be even higher…

Congrats to The Pirate Bay. May you reach millions more!

With BitTorrent tracker sites around the globe being targeted by law enforcement at the behest of copyright holders, and BitTorrent increasing in popularity as a file-sharing tool, I’m sure that many more will turn to The Pirate Bay as a destination to download content.

Now if only Guinness would approve their application.

I've been interested in P2P since the early, high-flying days of Napster and KaZaA. I believe that analog copyright laws are ill-suited to the digital age, and that art and culture shouldn't be subject to the whims of international entertainment industry conglomerates. Twitter | Google Plus

The only problem I see with this is is I would think that GWR would deny their application based on the negative criticism that they would opened too buy all the Anti-P2P AHoles! I hope not though! Good Luck TPB!
