Its my opinion that if more and more big artist pursue this model so will the smaller bands and we may finally have a movement the labels can't shut down. Even if they lock down the internet these artist would still be there offering their music for free. This would in effect keep music prices in line with what it should be prevent labels from trying to sell the 20$ album again.
