Sounds like one more instance of industry having government in their back pockets who force other industries to do the original groups bidding. The latter industries lack the balls to stand up and say "This isn't OUR responsibility! You want enforcement? Get you own people out there and do it in a legitimate and LEGAL fashion and keep US out of your problem. We provide a telecomm service not a policing service. What part of THAT are you incapable of comprehending; you whiney little pissants?"

The story's the same the world over. The people who are making money hand over fist are screaming rape and want everyone else to do their dirty work for them foot the bill and be the bad guys. All this so the consumer whom they're doing their damnedest to screw will continue to buy their crippled overpriced outdated product and continue to line their pockets with filthy lucre. They (the media executives who directly benefit from all this backroon chicanery) should be thrown out on the streets to the wolves and forced to fend for themselves; at the mercy of those whom they have needlessly persecuted in the courts of law.

Let's face it...if their product really THAT good people would be a LOT more willing to pay a FAIR AND REASONABLE price for it rather than the exhorbitant and extortive prices being demanded by the major labels. Is it any wonder that people feel compelled to pirate and file-share????

P2P is one of the primary reasons why people subscribe to broadband access in the first place. If ISP's start becoming copyright cops they'd lose half of their business. But who knows maybe this sort of thing could bring in competition and break up a few telecom monopolies.
