Speckly - 'BitTorrent Search Simplified'

posted by soulxtc in bittorrent // 42 days 22 hours 41 minutes ago

Site displays results returned from 10 different BitTorrent tracker sites in a manner that's user friendly and easy to read.

The BitTorrent community loves search engines, and every so often a new one enters the scene and shakes things up for the better.

Such is the case with Speckly, a newly launched BitTorrent tracker search engine that pours over 10 different sites for desired content. It covers all the main public sites including: Mininova, The Pirate Bay, ISOHunt, SeedPeer, Monova, Fulldls, TorrentReactor, BTJunkie, LegitTorrents, and Vuze.

What makes it unique is that the search results are displayed in an easy to read and user friendly manner similar to that of Google.

"Our mission is to provide you with an easy-to-use and easy-to-understand website to find BT files," reads the site.

That appears to be what the main intent is behind the site's creation - simplicity of use. The site's developers have made it clear that they want to help bring P2P, and especially BitTorrent, "into the mainstream."

"We believe that BitTorrent provides an enormous opportunity for content producers as a powerful distribution mechanism and window to consumer demand," notes Speckly's "About" page. "Part of that equation is making BitTorrent searches relevant, fast, and easy to understand. Just as the average person doesn't know how search engines rank web pages, a person doesn't need to understand how peer-to-peer (P2P) technologies work, learn P2P lingo such as 'seeds' and 'peers', and why those terms matters."

It also allows you to filter your results by media type like anime, books, games, movies, music, and "other."

In honor of today's release of "the Dark Knight" here's an example of a search using the keyword "batman" sorted by "movies."

Moreover, Speckly is truly worth visting if you want an "easy-to-use and easy-to-understand website to find BT files"
