recieved a letter from acs law demanding 665 pounds happens to be the day my baby is due so the last thing i needed really worried me. they dont have the decency to return my calls am not responsible for what they say.seeking legal advice and sky can rot in hell for giving them my details.must admit i was really scared until i visited this page and seen how many people this has happened to.

If I remember right there were hundreds receiving complaint letters last year. The number is surprisingly low and I suspect that the first 100 people that responded to the complaints may have found themselves caught up in what some may deem as a phishing scheme by the copyright industry. I might also suspect that the ‘thousands later’ may be people who didn’t respond. Of course this is pure speculation. All I know is that C&D orders have been flying out that law firms outboxes faster than the newspaper printers at one point.

All part of the new business model though more than likely – lawsuits.

No other way to stop this nonsense. It has to be a legal mandate or if not a lawsuit that the Supreme Court will rule on. Representatives in the House get elected every 2 years in the Senate every 6. Work on the reps in the House first which will be easier and show the Senate that even their seats are in jeopardy.

Funny thing is it would cost almost nothing if everyone who’s ever even looked at a browser would call their elected reps up. Imagine coming back to your office from a session in the House of Representatives and having your secretary/intern tell you that this morning alone you got 10000 phone calls of people all asking for a repeal of the Disney /Sonny Bono copyright act.

I have heard recent rumors of software companies that have hundreds of millions to burn hiring security firms mercenaries to go out and make hell for those that own the sites magesy shareaza limewire emule bit torrent mininova and they would torture the executives owners and or blow up the buildings homes that house the servers.

any truth to that ?

I know for a fact that a few site owners in the US were recently sent to 25 years in prison one of them for making available the last star wars in 2005 before it was in theaters they sent him to the supermax prison in colorado.
