Mininova – 2 Billion People Downloading ‘Iron Man?’

Probable glitch says that some 2,147,483,647 BitTorrent users, or about 33% of the world’s population, are currently downloading a Spanish “screener” copy of the movie.

A friend of mine tipped me off about an amusing glitch currently on Mininova.org, the BitTorrent tracker search engine.

It’s surely a glitch, but as you can see below, some 2,147,483,647 BitTorrent users are currently leeching an alleged Spanish screener copy of the movie “Iron Man” from Estrenospod.es, a site which is currently down.

Anybody else doubt that some 33% of the world’s population of 6.6 billion and counting are all scrambling for a screener copy of “Iron Man,” and in Spanish no less?

Too funny.

I've been interested in P2P since the early, high-flying days of Napster and KaZaA. I believe that analog copyright laws are ill-suited to the digital age, and that art and culture shouldn't be subject to the whims of international entertainment industry conglomerates.

It's just another telesync version. Looks like 33% of the world's population ended up disappointed.

Hollywood only wishes it had an audience that big!

This glitch crops up on occasion on BitTorrent trackers every so often it's not a problem that comes exclusively from MiniNova. I'm a bit surprised the problem appeared on MiniNova though. I wonder if such a problem is going to be fixed sometime soon though.
