Grooveshark creates new site that lets you enjoy all of the music that its users have to offer from the convenience of a simple browser page.
I’ve reported on Grooveshark a number times here at ZeroPaid. It’s the site with the motto “Everybody Gets Paid” which denotes the fact that users get compensated for music they share with other members of the site. Grooveshark splits its profit 50/50 after the royalties, fees, and other expenses for a given download have been paid out. Not a bad deal for rabid file-sharing fans.
Now the Grooveshark team has come up with a new platform for people to use called “Grooveshark Lite.” Grooveshark Lite lets you browse the music library offered by members of the entire site without having to run the usual streaming player plugin. You can stream tracks for free to your heart’s content and then even choose to share or purchase any of the ones you like.
Unlike the regular Grooveshark site which requires installation of Sharkbyte in order to listen to music, Grooveshark Lite lets you easily and conveniently stream tracks through a simple browser interface. It provides a nice alternative to Last.FM, Pandora, and other music streaming sites for not only can you streaming tracks in an unlimited fashion unlike the former, but also on-demand unlike the latter.
For more information on what Grooveshark itself is all about, I urge you to read the article I wrote previous, “Q&A With Grooveshark, Where ‘Everybody Gets Paid’ For Sharing Music.” It just may change the way that some of you choose to share your music files with others.
