Connexion Dumps Data of California Government Website to Pastebin

The AntiSec movement appears to have turned to the FPCA (The California Fair Political Practices Commission) website and dumping contents of the website to Pastebin

A hacking team that goes by the name of Connexion Hack Team posted a tweet to announce their success of hacking the website. They said, “There we go everyone, big booty [...] YAY! First .GOV hack”

The statement in the Pastebin post also contains the following:

Dear Internetz,

Our name is the Connexion Hack Team. We have hacked your website, http://www.ffpc.ca.gov because it needed to have a checkup with the SecDoctors. We have found many errors with your website and agree to tell them to you via twitter, @Connexion_Lulz. We also want everyone reading this to note that it was us who hacked them, and not some random person who copied everything and said it was theirs. We believe that all information that is hidden should be open to everyone. Even more so, since this is a government related site.

To prove that we hacked your website, we provided a table below of all the candidates, administration info, and the list of donators and who they donated to. We have done all this attempt to show the people the corrupt governments of the world. You may not be a government but you have connections. So therefore, we shall disrupt the internet ocean, revolutionise the world, all in the name of #AntiSec.

So that is all we have to say at the moment. Please enjoy and definently talk to us on Twitter.

The release appears to contain information on the database in question along with administrator login credentials. It also seems to contain a member list, a donor list (including amounts donated), and user names and passwords.

You are doing a great service to Liberty in these unsustainable times. if I can Help? I will gladly do-so. Safe-house is my best offer. We Can Hide You! We really can. You should think about aligning yourselves with the "Nicer" Elements of the "Actual" Criminal Underground. This can be of enormous advantage to you in critical moments. Like when you find out they are looking for you.."Physically". Then its nice to have friends with sofa's...and..who know their Rights and how to remain silent. At any rate..again..I applaud and Appreciate this new Burst of Movement. It is Welcome and truly "Just".

all this reckless action by a few self-appointed know it all know nothings will bring down an iron curtain on the net.

Why am I prompted to download an EXE? Is this merely an attempt to spread a trojan?

May I ask how you got that prompt? I never got one.
