You can add Torch browser to the list. It’s only recently been available for mac users. I’ve been using it on my windows pc and it’s crazy. It’s a chromium based browser with an integrated torrent client, and it is so good!

@Josh Lee I run OS Lion on my Apple Macbook Pro 15″ Retina Display. I would just like to correct you, and in doing so hopefully save Apple users from further scarring: Mac has the ability to partition so that Windows can also be run, yes, however saying “Windows cannot run a Mac” Is wrong on so many levels. Firstly, Windows is software, it cannot run Mac, it cant run anything (in terms of other OS) because it is one itself. Computers built to run windows dont however, as you may have been trying to say, have the ability to run OSX out of the box due to pre-configurations. Note that, with a bit of fiddling, OSX can be run on these systems. Yes, you had a point, Mac line computers have an advantage due to the ability to partition and run Windows out of the box. However, to call other comments “newbie useless” is ironic, considering your comment was “noobie useless”. Why did i bother writing this: Apple users have a bad name because of people like you.

bunch of newbie useless comments here…”good guide for users stuck on mac” WTF a Mac can run windows, can windows run a mac? NO. That was a stupid comment.

Anyway…..If you configure the port settings in your router, Transmission will be the most dependable and fastest client but if you don’t have the understanding of how the ports work and how to “port forward” then you are SOL.

I had uTorrent and it worked well for some time… Then it started slowing my internet connection (which is 10 Mbps) even with downloading speed at 30kbps. Then I came here, saw Trasmission and downloaded it. Worked great yesterday, downloading at full speed, and then stopped working today. Sometimes I miss Windows

Hi There….I just wanted you to know that I am a brand new MAC user after 20+ years of PC’s and I have been using uTorrent for years with Windows…BUT I just downloaded version 1.5.13 of uTorrent and it is most definately the STABLEST version (newest beta not quite stable enough yet) AND yes it DOES have RSS Feed options…and also has ability to check off which files you Do or do NOT want to download with the file package…..Just wanted you to know….Good Luck with your torrenting endeavors!

In my experience, Bitrocket is good and fast too (though it’s a *bit* unstable–no pun intended–and you have to download all the files in the torrent). Conversely, uTorrent is utterly useless crap and whoever wrote it should have sharp objects shoved into all their bodily orifices (because it doesn’t work in OS 10.4).
