Control your Mac and Linux BitTorrent downloads on the go with this portable Android app.
Transmission has long been one of the more popular BitTorrent clients for both Mac and Linux users. The open source client is lightweight, feature-filled, and sports a simple, intuitive interface designed to integrate tightly with whatever computing environment you choose to use.
Now there’s a Remote Transmission Android app that lets users control their downloads on the go.
“With this application you can remotely take the control of your desktop Transmission installation via its web interface,” reads the app’s description.
Some of the features include:
- view your torrents list
- pause or resume a torrent
- adding a torrent from a http url
- support for Honeycomb (Android 3.0)
One of the main criticisms seems to be the fact that you can’t pause or resume torrents individually, only “Pause All” or “Resume All,” but being able to add torrents remotely is still an attractive feature.
What’s your favorite Android app for remotely controlling the Transmission BitTorrent client?
Stay tuned.
