So is that guy in the pink shirt Merrill? The funny thing is that they could have hired me for $15/ hour and I would have done the same thing as this guy they're probably paying 1.6 million a year. That is interesting that he admitted it was good for increasing music sales. The internet can make that "yeah it would be nice to have such and such song but am I really going to drive all the way to Sam Goody and pay $25 for the CD when it's the only song I want?" and turns it into "99 cents and a click of the mouse to be able to enjoy this song forever? Ahh what the heck why not."

His google ba<x>sed marketing system is nothing new to anyone on zeropaid or anyone who knew how much money Napster made in its few shorts years (and they really loaded that thing down with ads...not) Kazaa made ridiculous amounts of money and I don't know but I'm sure limewire is doing pretty good. I know piratebay is raking in easy millions (especially easy when you consider they really don't do much to develop the site). Guaranteed if you were offering legal downloads for free no drm just high quality mp3 you'd have THE MOST visited site on the internet barring possibly Google or Yahoo. You don't think internet ad companies would pay massive amounts of money for that? Get with coke or whoever and rack up the ads. Sony could promote their products their latest Vaio their latest music pla<x>yers their TVs whatever they'd have free ads for life so they'd save millions just in advertisements alone plus it would reach more people guaranteed that any TV show.

This isn't rocket science guys if a 23 year old can think this stuff up in his shanty apartment.

Well there you go. just what the doctor ordered someone with some knowledge of this new technology. The older folks and their old ways in the music industry are finished.

Hopefully when EMI starts to make headway with their new business model politicians take notice. For so long we have had very little in terms of a big corporation to show politicians about how ingenuity not restrictions is what the industry needs. Once this is achieved theirs no way lobbying could spread the manure like it has been.

Oh there will be those that claim that the piracy is hurting their business that's not going to stop but hopefully this abates it to the point where people aren't afraid of the internet anymore because of the RIAA/IFPI horn-swagglers...
