The problem has never been a dying market the market has grown since Napster. People are listening to more music then ever before. The big 4 have been fighting the current reality to regain control control is the only reason they had dominance. Radio music stores and live performances used to be the only real avenue to hear new music. When the internet bloomed that all changed distribution is cheap there a multiple avenues for exposure and artist can afford to promote themselves. The labels have been fighting to create an artificial demand for their services its too late now in my opinion however as artists have already started realizing the truth and they don't want to be with the big labels anymore. In 5 to 10 years from now I think the industry is really going to change and move away from the big 4 cartel. Just watch its already happened in Canada U.S. is next.
