Sign the Petition to Bring Back TVLinks

Not sure how much good it will do, but its worth a try.

Many of you I’m sure are aware that TVLinks was recently busted by UK police and that the site’s admin, a 26yo from Chelteham in the UK, was arrested.

Well, now an online petition is circulating to show some support for the chap (as they say in the UK), and has about 2022 total signatures as I write this.

The petition reads as follows:

To: F.A.C.T, Government, Police
As you all will know the owner of the website Www.tv-links.co.uk has been arrested, this is wrong! The website is not illegal in anyway shape or form, linking is not illegal and we do not condone downloading, so why has the site been shut down and the owner arrested? We say free ” Sin ” join us in this cause against injustice, sue the hosters not Tv-links
Sincerely,
The Undersigned

Now I know the prospects of the petition having any effect are slim to none, but nonetheless it’s a means of at least having your voice heard on the subject. The fact that the guy was busted for merely listing links to pirated content should be a wake up call to us all that all is not well when it comes to intellectual property laws and copyright enforcement.

So I urge you to take a moment and sign the petition. It’s more important than you might think.

I've been interested in P2P since the early, high-flying days of Napster and KaZaA. I believe that analog copyright laws are ill-suited to the digital age, and that art and culture shouldn't be subject to the whims of international entertainment industry conglomerates. Twitter | Google Plus
