Even Supervillians Use BitTorrent?

Blogger posts interesting panel image from Fantastic Four issue 549 where the "power of BitTorrent" is used to bring back a supervillian from the dead.

I stumbled across an interesting blog posting the other day on Joey deVilla’s "Global Nerdy" that shows an image from Fantastic Four issue 549.

In it a supervillian uses the power of BitTorrent to resurrect a supervillian from the dead.

From the blog:

Forget about what the RIAA and MPAA are saying about Bittorrent: its real danger comes from the fact that supervillains use it!
In Marvel Comics’ Fantastic Four issue 549, sonic supervillain Klaw is back with a vengeance. Made of “solidified sound”, Klaw can create sounds powerful enough to kill and destroy. He was believed to be dead, but was brought back to life as a clone by the evil genius, Wizard. How? BitTorrent. Here’s the relevant panel:

    WOW that is such a lame plot device. if that was a movie i wouldnt be able to take the rest of it seriously. im sure rifftrax would have a fun time with it too.

    @Signa
    Yah it’s a pretty lame plot device…….but isnt the whole point of comics to suspend ALL disbelief?

    yeah but its pushing it i think. sure its plausible but its just too close to a stab at filesharers that its a bit of a turn-off. oddly i think it would be more OK if they resurrected a good guy with the net than a bad guy. something about going to *any* length to save a friend than just bring back some destruction for the planet just seems more real.

    it all reminds me of futurama with the episode where they download lucy liu. (did i spell that right? im too lazy to check)

    What did the previous panel say? Because I dont understand why using Bitorrent was “ironic”. Maybe that pastel The Great Gazoo was just using the term improperly (as so many do).
