That is just letting the stupid record companies have their way! Why should people do THAT when there are proxies and other ways to get around it??

It is the PRINCIPAL of the thing.

People should not take this lying down.

the best thing about blocking canadian users or US users (in the case of Isohunt etc.) is circumventing them with proxies. it keeps some pressure off the sites we know and love and at the same time still enabling those with the know-how to use them. The record companies/software companies have to realize people aren't opposed to paying for things especially the majority of "Pirates" It's we're (IMO) opposed to ridiculous prices ($30 for a cd in Australia?!?!? - $3495 for 3ds max - $399.99 for Windows Vista - the list goes on and on) I understand these companies are trying to make money and have employees to pay etc. but that doesn't mean they have to rape us in the process.

It's good for Demonoid anyway like the other poster said look for another site or try Torrentleech but the way I see it as soon as stuff stops being so expensive. The less Piraters there will be. Sucks for Canada thoughlmao.

All this blocking going on. Are these so called democratic countries heading the way of China and the likes? Do we have to go back to the old days of IRC ? Proxies will work for now but they will find a way to prevent this happening for sure. TOR should work though with Azureaus.

I'm a Canadian and I gotta tell you guys this is outrageous .I sent an email to get all Canadian users of Demonoid to sign in Petition as an act of discrimination of Canadians. It's just ridicilious what happened with Demonoid.com ! Does any one knows how do I get Proxy and is there any chance to using Demonoid.com as a person as Canadian ? Please send me a private message whoever's willing to help. This situation it's so frustrative and we Canadians are very affected and feel discriminated by the act of CRIA!

So what do you propose we do about it? Whether it's the principal or not that's wasn't my point - my point was for every Demonoid that gets targetted by the CRIA RIAA MPAA or whatever the fuck there are about 10 more sites just like it that nobody knows about (but are about to discover very quick). Has anybody even noticed that Suprnova is back?? I'm NOT taking it lying down trust me but what am I to do if I'm not up to speed on proxies and all the rest of it - cry? No way - in all honesty the only thing I personally used Demonoid for was for Howard Stern - and I've found four other sites to get it since Demonoid went down - use your resources - and scan some of the forums - you'll be surprised what you find - or get invited to....

I found this interesting. Trying to "Digg" the article and I got this "This URL has been widely reported by users as being regularly used to spam Digg's submission process and cannot be submitted at this time." Coincidence? Or paid for by the CRIA? I've heard of companies hiring people to digg articles and what not so is it really that unlikely that someone could pay to block something from being heard?
