Has a sleek new appearance like the iPhone and is w-fi capable to boot.

Today at San Francisco's Moscone center Steve Jobs made several new Apple announcements that as usual were met with excitement and jubilation from a packed crowd of Apple fanboys.

But, I must admit even I was truly amazed at what was unveiled today, the new "iPod touch" being the most spectacular.

Here's the rundown:

iPod touch

Multi-touch

• iPod touch features the same revolutionary interface as iPhone. Built to take full advantage of the large 3.5-inch display, the multi-touch interface lets you control everything using only your fingers. So you can glide through albums with Cover Flow, flick through photos and enlarge them with a pinch, or zoom in and out on a section of a web page. And iPod touch features a touchscreen QWERTY keyboard perfect for browsing the web in Safari, searching for videos on YouTube, finding music on the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store, entering calendar events, or adding new contacts..

• Browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos on the first-ever Wi-Fi iPod.

Pricing?

• The iPod touch will be available in both 8GB and 16GB storage capacity and will be priced at $299 and $399, respectively, when they ship "worldwide in a few weeks."

New iPod nano

The new iPod nano features a larger two-inch display with 204 pixels per inch, which is 65% brighter than the previous generation, and delivers 320x240 resolution that lets users watch their favorite movies, TV shows and music videos in the same resolution they currently enjoy on the video iPod.

It now Delivers up to 24 hours of audio playback or five hours of video playback on a single charge, and is encased in a new all-metal design made with anodized aluminum and polished stainless steel and comes in five new colors -- silver, black, blue, green and a (PRODUCT) RED special edition.

The new iPod nano also features an enhanced user interface that shows off album artwork and photos, and now includes Cover Flow, so you can scroll through your entire music collection by album cover artwork using the Click Wheel.

It also comes pre-loaded with iQuiz, an entertainment trivia game; Vortex, a fast-paced 360 degree brick-bashing game; and Klondike, a popular solitaire card game. Additional games will be available later this month from the iTunes, including Sudoku, Tetris, Ms. PAC-MAN.

• A 4GB iPod nano comes in silver for just $149 (US) and the 8GB model is available in silver, black, blue, green and a (PRODUCT) RED special edition for just $199 (US). Both the 4GB and 8GB iPod nano for Windows or Mac are available worldwide immediately through the Apple Store.

New iPod Classic

Sports an enhanced user interface featuring Cover Flow technology and a new all-metal enclosure.

Now allows for up to 40 hours of music playback and seven hours of video playback in the 160GB model, and up to 30 hours of music playback and five hours of video playback in the 80GB model on a single charge.

Pricing?

• $249 for the 80GB model and $349 for the 160GB model, and also available immediately.
