21 track album offers the culmination of countless hours of blood, sweat, and tears from NIN fans.

It's just been announced that Nine Inch Nail's months long deliberation to sort through some 200 fan submitted NIN remixes has been completed, and that a stunning 21 track album titled 'Limitless Potential' is now available for fans to download.

From their blog:

After several months of waiting it's finally here; the results of the remix contest! Multiple judges seeking to find the best of the best listened to nearly 200 remixes and in the end only 21 came out on top. Taking home the 1st place Hot Topic prize package is Dirty Scarab for his version of My Violent Heart (Prevention; Rejection). The 2nd place runner-up Faction package goes to the version of Vessel (Losing Control Remix) by Pushing Reality. Congratulations to both prize package winners for creating exceptional remixes and also to the 19 other winners that are featured here today for creating quality remixes.

Always part of the seeming vanguard of emerging new methods of music distribution and sound, NIN once again lives up to its reputation for being "fan-centric" and offers 'Limitless Potential' as a free download for its fans.

Sure they got the material for the album for free, but nonetheless to sponsor a contest of sorts in which fans were able to use their copyrighted material as they saw fit, in fact even putting some of it up on the Pirate Bay themselves to help facilitate the effort, speaks volumes about their true priority - MUSIC!

Not to be overlooked as well is how NIN's frontman Trent Reznor lashed out at record execs after browsing the outrageous "premium prices" being charged for his band's CD titles in an Australian music retailer.

He wrote:

The ABSURD retail pricing of Year Zero in Australia. Shame on you, UMG. Year Zero is selling for $34.99 Australian dollars ($29.10 US). No wonder people steal music. Avril Lavigne's record in the same store was $21.99 ($18.21 US). By the way, when I asked a label rep about this his response was: "It's because we know you have a real core audience that will pay whatever it costs when you put something out - you know, true fans. It's the pop stuff we have to discount to get people to buy."

He even later mentioned in an interview with Australia's Herald Sun newspaper that "...I steal music too, I'm not gonna say I don't."

Moreover, NIN's "Limitless Potential" fan remix compilation truly shows the "limitless potential" of both its music and its fans.

**BTW, highyl recommend track #8, "My Violent Heart (I Am the Pestilence)." Just be prepared to crank the volume on your stereo ALL THE WAY UP!**

    1. That isn't a blog.

    2. That site is not official! It's a fan site! Trent Reznor has NO involvement with that website.

The site says quite clearly in the sidebar: "(This is not official Nine Inch Nails merchandise)."
