After seizure of its domain name by US authorities says it’s not “down and out” and refutes rumors that its servers and information were seized.
Last week I mentioned how Federal official had seized the domain names of TVSHACK.NET, MOVIES-LINKS.TV, FILESPUMP.COM, NOW-MOVIES.COM, PLANETMOVIEZ.COM, THEPIRATECITY.ORG, and ZML.COM, NinjaVideo.net and NinjaThis.net for daring to link to other sites that host copyrighted material.
That’s right. They were each accused of being “involved in the illegal distribution of copyrighted movies and television programs over the Internet” for doing little more than linking to sites where copyrighted material could be found, or in the case of of ZML.COM, for being a Cyberlocker where users are the ones responsible for making content available.
One of the sites – NinjaVideo – has now made a public statement in an attempt to try and dispel some of the rumors circling the Internet about what happened and what the future holds.
“I can confirm search warrants warrants and seizure did take place at 4 undisclosed locations,” writes ~HTRDFRK, a NinjaVideo admin. “I can also confirm our servers and information were NOT seized.” The systems were disabled per our request.”
As for NinjaVideo’s future?
“The future status of NinjaVideo is yet to be determined, but down and out?,” he says. Buahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, THIS SHIT IS NINJA!!!!”
So much for the govt’s claims that site’s like this would “not have a happy ending.” As we all know NinjaVideo, and likely all of the others, will simply find a new domain name to set up shop.

Seriously, you guys are attacking people for a service that doesn’t even reflect their personality in it’s quality? So mature, you would cheer on a ‘robin hood’ character but when the deeds are through this medium suddenly it’s bad? The haters are hypocrites. The people behind the productions have made their cut, and surely it is more than enough to survive. No offence but has it occured to no one that ICE will never touch domains registered and hosted in certain countries? All of the sites taken down were easy US based targets and we all know Disney is the driving force behind copyright changes in the last 20 years.

I’ve read through all these comments and have to agree with most of the ninja haters, however the Ninja’s did provide us with the entertainment (excluding the forum life). As I personally don’t like the look of forums and the usual banter in each thread i.e. I don’t understand how people can follow all the comments… as in when you try and help someone out on the forums by replying back to them with some answers, for example how to use the helper (even though there was a clear description provided) someone else asks the same question in the same thread few pages later geez READ!!…
But I think Ninjavideo had the best video quality and upload/download speed compared to most of the websites I knew and they always provided us with quality video’s few minutes after the scene release’s. ARRGHHH Ninja!!! come back or at least someone use their idea’s, as in the layout of the website was beautiful (easy to use, clean and simple), that helper thing to speed up downloads and just forget about the forums full stop as its just a waste of time (my personal opinion on forums)….

NinjaVideo was not that great. Their collection was not very large, certainly not as large 67,444 videos currently found on a website that will not be advertised.
Plus, they pretended like their applet was some great secret. All it did was connect to Megaupload through a premium account. I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t even upload their own content.

It’s this sort of cretinous bullshit that really put me off Ninjavideo – well the forums anyway. For the record I was never kicked out of the forums or anything like that, simply because I never joined up – after browsing there for about a minute I realised that I’d like nothing to do with such an odious group of arselicking simpletons.
But I do agree that when it came to the streaming video aspect of their site, they were the ones doing it best. They consistently had the best quality video, with a very simple method of accessing the content, that no one has been able to better. Other places have more content but it’s of a lesser quality or more difficult to access.

I joined Ninjavideo when it first came out and used the site a lot to watch movies and TV shows… but when I joined the forum’s… Miss Ugly (Phara) came along and banned me for asking about their “so called ninja helper” which seemed to that it was some sort of worm or virus or something…
I still got to use the site though.. but when they kept bitching about how much it costs them to run the site.. you’d think that they are actually making the movies or something… for example they steal the movies off torrents or newsgroups and upload them on their site.. then ask people to “donate” which is more in the sense of a threat as to the way they keep asking you and ban you if you don’t donate or ignore your questions… even though they made enough revenue on their add’s alone, due to the number of hits the site got per day…
And you are completely right DON KING… the forum admins were complete obnoxious fukin twats that had something stuck up their asses!!! And cinesimon we all know you loved Ninja video so did I… but I completely hated the treatment one received on the forums due to the fact you do not donate.. and when you donate you have to keep emailing them to bump you up to vip wow!! BUT all in all.. I only used the site for their divx quality and gave up on the forums crap due to “Queen Imo Phara”… I hope they don’t get sentenced though (unless they already have) as they “provided” (key word that “provided”) us with the entertainment i.e. movies and other things…. but the art thing and the forum’s was a complete waste of time.. which was only for people like cinesimon who are stuck behind their computers, sharing and completely losing track of the real world and getting glued into the world of the “internet”…

There’s now a fight and a battle to have corporations not take a person’s right to enjoy media however they want. What isn’t great is the childish antics of calling a woman names while she did her best for her community. I used Ninja’s mainsite all the time and now I’m on the forums, and the inspiration they give me to create things is through the roof.
in most articles on ninja they claim not to charge or make any money … so where did all that money go that they constantly begged people to donate to them even before this?

however, NinjaVideo was still the best.

The closest thing I have found is Icefilms, once you get past their little script player thing.
I refuse to use sites that want you to install their own players and/or codecs.
What these morons in government and the money grabbers who make the shows need to realize is that MOST of the viewers of these sites would be quite willing to pay for a legitimate service!
Want a really good example?… remember Napster getting shutdown for “pirating”mp3′s?

I did try Hulu for a very short while until they decided to cut off Canadian viewers.
It was horribly slow (over 2 hours to buffer 45 minute show!?!? ) , did not have all the episodes of anything, and still had commercials.
Basically, it was a good example of how NOT to do a service like this.
They should take a few pointers from Ninjavideo or icefilms.
As for those of you hating Ninjavideo because of the admins… well obviously you were one of the many idiots that got ninja’d.
Personally, while I agree their attitude could be better, I loved that fact that they would quite happily boot the idiots out of the forums… most forums these days are full of trash talking idiots or unbelievable whiners.

I’ve heard a lot of people complain about NV, mostly because of admin arrogance. But a lot of people say that the site sucked. I’m trying to figure out how? Is there another place that I can get high quality shows, add/commercial free, with a huge variety, less than an hour after the show airs?
And the format of the page was also brilliant. Never was it more easy to find both the shows I was looking for, and also shows I might never have watched before. The way everything was cataloged, I could keep up to date with multiple shows at once, even if I disappeared for a few weeks and forgot what it was I was even watching.
If that exists anywhere other than NV, please share. Sure, the people than ran the site had mild delusions of grandeur, but I really miss what they provided.

With the effort Ninja video went through to give us good quality content it is a sad day to see them leave us hopefully they are as resilient as the Piratebay or tvshack and popup elsewhere.

I was using Ninja as well to watch tv shows that I don’t get or forgot to watch on my television. I will miss the site.

I was a regular user of Ninjavideo for the last couple of years and to their credit, the service they provided was excellent.
However, the attitude of the guys running the site was just totally objectionable, it was a mixture of cockiness, self importance and inflated ego coupled with the delusional idea that what they were doing was of some great benefit to humanity – reading the admins messages you would think that they’d brought world peace, built hospitals in Africa and eradicated global poverty. In actual fact all they were doing was uploading films and tv shows – not shows that they worked on, or funded or had even the most marginal involvement in the creation of, but shows that they downloaded from newsgroups or private trackers and then linked to on their site. It’s hardly a noble cause.
The reason why there’s so many people revelling in the fact that they got shut down is largely because of the shitty attitude of the guys behind the site. Even the posts they’ve made recently concerning the closure of the site (http://www.ninjavideoforum.net/viewtopic.php?id=35426) are full of the same delusional, pretentious shit, perfectly illustrated with this quote:

The pathetic sense of injustice and suffering here are priceless….If I were to bootleg movies at a local market stall I don’t think I’d elicit much sympathy when I got arrested for it, and this is a direct parallel to that but on a wider scale.
I know this post seems hypocritical since I used the site, but obviously it’s not the bootlegging I object to, but the inability of the sites admins to acknowledge that what they were doing was just bootlegging copyrighted content and their insistence on acting as if they were somehow making the world a better place…

Ninjavideo was part of my life. I never posted on the forums or donated or anything, but I have spent a good amount of time on there watching tv shows, discovering new shows, and everything. It was easy to use, quick, convenient.. Im really hoping for ninja to come back and when they do, i hope I hear about it.

I wouldn’t be talking up icefilms.info as being untouchable. A lot of these sites were thought of as being untouchable because they were only link sites. If the US government thinks it can seize domain names and seize equipment, what other countries will do the same thing.
I think the reason these sites were targeted is because they were well-known and considered the easiest to bust. Really, wasn’t a challenge.
Personally, the Feds are wasting their time because the real threats are the Eastern European based subscription services which offer pirated stuff like you were subscribing to Hulu or Netflix. Furthermore, if the Feds really wanted to make a dent instead of running this farce of a PR campaign with a lot of flash and no substance, they either should be going after the private trackers or the scene release groups but that ain’t going to happen.

Rotating domains with a link centered on one in particular. domain names are rather cheap and having an announcing page on us soil is legal all they need is 3 to 5 domains for it to randomly rotate to if registered in the cayman islands there is nothing johnny law could do but bitch, Phara probably got a cease and desist notice and in an effort not to go to federal prison decided to back down perhaps even post under a different name.
