Most people I know have a fairly good grasp of the laws and what their purpose is. Quite frankly no one really cares about breaking copyright as they don't see it as legitimate. People think the current laws are unreasonable and quite frankly they are they have been heavily influence by the industry and have no public interest in them. So why would anyone care about these laws. Educate people about copyright all you want it won't change a damn thing. People believe they should be able to either compensate the artist directly or get their music for free and thats the facts. However if you educate people about the dealings of the RIAA and how the industry is run and I bet you many people would convert to not paying for music.
