Pre-Air ‘Sarah Connor Chronicles’ Leaked to BitTorrent

“Terminator” fans get an early taste of what’s to come in early 2008.

Over the years BitTorrent tracker sites everywhere have become inundated with pre-air episodes of both upcoming network shows as well as established ones embarking on a new season.

From “Jericho” to “Traveler” to “Weeds,” and the of course infamous recent “24″ incident, where the first four episodes of the latest season series were released some 8 days prior to air.

Well, luck has smiled on the BitTorrent community once again with a pre-air episode of the much-anticipated “The Sarah Connor Chronicles” making it’s way to tracker sites this very afternoon.

That’s right it’s out and about.

Scheduled to take FOX Sunday nights by storm sometime in early 2008, “The Sarah Connor Chronicles” picks up where “Terminator 2: Judgement Day” left off. Sarah had just defeated the Terminator sent from the future to kill her son, John, whereby they then find themselves lost in lonely world as fugitives from enemies from the past, present, and future that could attack them at any time.

A FOX programming site describes it as follows:

Tired of running, Sarah opts to go on the offensive against the Terminators set on ending her life, as well as the world.

THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES reveals what happens when SARAH (Lena Headey, “The Brothers Grimm,” “300”) stops running and goes on the offensive against an ever-evolving technological enemy bent on destroying her life, and perhaps the world. Her son, 15-year-old JOHN CONNOR (Thomas Dekker, “Heroes”), knows that he may be the future savior of mankind, but is not yet ready to take on the mantle of leadership that he’s told is his destiny. John finds himself inextricably drawn to CAMERON (Summer Glau, “Serenity,” “The Unit”), an enigmatic and otherworldly student at his high school, who soon proves to be much more than his confidante – she assumes the role of Sarah and John’s fearless protector. On their trail are not only threats from the future, but an intelligent and tough FBI agent, JAMES ELLISON (Richard T. Jones, “Judging Amy”), who soon becomes a powerful ally.

Better yet, Wikipedia provides even tastier details:

In an interview on June 20, 2007 posted to IGN, Josh Friedman revealed that the writers and producers are going to avoid the Terminator of the Week plot device and that Sarah, John, and Cameron will have other threats than just Terminators. Skynet will also come into play as the series progresses.

Time travel is reported to play a major role in the series premiere including a temporal leap for the main characters from 1998 to the current year.

For those of you curiosu to check it out, a quick Google search provides an answer as to where to find it, and as usual the Pirate Bay rises to the occasion.

Enjoy. I’ll update you as to how it is after a buddy of mine finishes watching it.

UPDATE AFTER WATCHING IT:

I’m sure it’s not the final cut, and I’ve even heard rumors that one scene in particular is headed for the editing room because of the tragedy at V-Tech but, overall I’d give it a thumbs up, a BIG thumbs up in fact. The actors were great, and the plotline was believable and interesting.

The only thing I found a little tough to follow at first is that it takes place between T2 and T3 so you have to try and kind of put what you WILL KNOW out of your mind for a bit and focus on the present. Though considering the story’s ultimate end has been known from the very beginning it’s not terribly difficult.

Now I just hope that FOX pays attention to detail and doesn’t overdue it with cheesy special effects or outlandish plotlines. With shooting of the final season of "Battlestar Galactica" almost completed, they’d be well-served in grabbing a few of the production and camera guys to assist in this project and make sure everything stays up to par. The Terminator saga is too near and dear to many of us to risk being tainted by incompetent hands and ruin what was an otherwise great "pause" in the story at the end of T3.
