how long was the site up anyway? i mean what was the potential payoff for setting all that up? that client prog prolly wasnt the absolute easiest to set up.

All the reason (when you are trying a new site which you are not familiar with) to store your downloads on an external hard-drive which you DISCONNECT while you are doing a current download. As soon as it’s through and it’s legit move it to the external drive and DISCONNECT it immediately. In this case it was a fake movie. You didn’t actually download anything. And if you did THEY offered it so how can you be at fault? It’s uploading that’s illegal (how many times do we need to say it?) If they decided to pursue it they’d get you for ONE movie that you weren’t even uploading. It’d hardly be worth the legal fees to pursue you. And if you had DISCONNECTED the external hard-drive then they would find nothing on your computer. I keep all my files on an external drive which I have connected only when I am burning CD’s or DVD’s or sharing them through known and trusted sites.

I think what probably happened was that their lawyers advised them that this was mabye not such a good idea. So they decided to take the site down voluntarily. But if ANY of these cases go to court….I am sure they will be thrown out for the way the evidence was gathered.

Good riddance…mabye they have learned their lesson? Nah They are too STUPID for that.

I never trust new sites unless there is a world-shaking buzz to use them. I stick with the “traditional methods” and no harm is done.
