The site should stay up the reason for it that free speech can go both ways. These people can host their site and discuss their topic even if it is not socially accepted. But in putting it on the internet and allowing others to view it we as a public are allowed to criticize the views of the individuals and try to convince them that maybe they need to seek help. If you shut down the site you can no longer offer up this help and these people will only see the one sided view at least now as it stands you can discuss the topic. Not being to the site myself I don’t know how its moderated but maybe the push should be to get people to talk to them rather then get pissed off at the pirate bay.

Exactly. Plus like I said its a slippery slope. Do we begin censoring ALL disgusting material on the internet like bondage crud beastiality the list really goes on and on. Also some people’s notion of “disgusting” is different from others I mean some consider porn period to be an abomination others consider talk of abortion rights etc etc..

This reminds me of people who want to allow the illegal downloading of music but NOT allow file sharing of child porn. Who’s going to sit down and look at all the files? And do we really WANT someone to be doing this? It seems to me that the approach to wiping out (or attempting to…it never really will be!) child porn is bass-ackwards as they say. In stead of going after the websites go after the people who are recruiting the kids for this. And should you really be arrested because of what you say or think or even look at on the Internet? It’s like those supposed “terrorists” who were arrested for planning to blow up JFK airport (and also that gang in Florida…what ever happened to them?) They were TALKING and THINKING about it. They had no bombs no materials at all! Any policeman or FBI agent knows that if you REALLY want to get someone convicted you wait until you have the goods on them–when they actually have the bombs and/or materials–then you move in and arrest them. These guys will get off if they have good lawyers. The whole thing was a publicity stunt to make us all think that Bush is actually making progress in his “war on terror.” Sorry to mix up topics but the same goes for child porn. Criticizing websites that merely provide a forum for TALKING about something is just a means of pretending that you are actually DOING something. Get the guys that are recruiting the kids not those who are merely discussing something. The cops should be on the streets not on the internet pretending to be twelve-year old girls.

duke you seem to – just like most- jump to conclusions when terms like pedophilia come up

PRQ nor the TPB host anything illegal

TPB hosts torrent files which aren’t and anyone hosting a site on PRQ servers is held to a strict TOS standard

discussing pedophillia isn’t posting child porn it’s freedom of speech

I find it ironic that dns sites like godaddy.com try to kick pro-pedo dns’s while allowing tons of racist hate sites to spread intolerance

thats free speech for ya…and just like any company has a right to boot a hosted site for breaking ToS they have a right to accept it’s legal right to preach hate love or anything in between

Exactly its a DISCUSSION SITE not a child porn site and the Pirate Bay doesnt actually host any content and it never has nor never will allow the swapping of child porn. Brokep over at the Pirate Bay has even told me as much.

It really is all about free speech and again the laws are meant to protect the crap people dont like to hear.

AT first it admittedly tripped me out that PRQ would host the site but after thinking about it more it actually made me sort of proud that they would take all the heat that comes with it and do so. I mean theyre getting a ton of crap for what? To make 50 bucks a month?

Defending the principles of free speech will never be convenient nor should it be.

Pedophiles may have the right to talk about what they do/want to do but if they act upon the talk they go to jail right? They should really seek help because most of us agree that having sex with kids is wrong. Talking about it is disgusting but under current law not wrong.

I’m not saying that pirate bay does or will allow kiddie porn torrents just watch how many perverts try & post child porn torrents……

And discussing pedophilia I find nothing wrong with. It should be discussed.
