Indie site now offers tunes from its 1,300,000-track catalog that's fully compatible with iPod and any MP3 player, and also supports Windows, Mac, UNIX, all major browsers.In a continued march towards a world of DRM-free music, Payplay.FM is another site that now offers music in an unprotected MP3 format. Today the indie music site has announced that it will now offer its entire 1,300,000-track music catalog to customers for 88 cents per song at 192 kpbs and DRM-free. "On the Day Against DRM last year we committed to provide our customers with the music download freedom of choice. Today we live up to that promise, delivering more than twice the number of tracks pledged in October in DRM-free format," said Elliot Goykhman, PayPlay CEO. "The new version of PayPlay.FM makes it extremely easy and exciting to buy music. We are proud to be the world's largest MP3 download store." I'm not sure that the "world's largest MP3 download store" claim holds water but, the number of available selections certainly assures that there's something for everyone.
This move by PayPlay.FM further cements the march towards what consumes really want - the ability to listen and to use their music track purchases whenever and however they want. PayPlay also hints that it is set to launch PayPlay.TV, an online video download store that will feature music videos, short films, movie trailers, TV shows and more, later this year. Stay tuned.
