It would be some kind of a milestone for the Beatles catalog to be officially released and they will want to generate excitement for the downloads at iTunes but what's missing is that Beatles albums have been available for free on the net for years. That their fans have released the Beatles catalog already is a big part of this story and they failed to mention it.

The only important advantage I can see from an official release is better sound quality by digital re-mastering. I've heard the sound on the Yellow Submarine DVD and the Love album of Beatles remixes and they really have opened up the tracks and made them boom.

Oh and Sir Paul making a new album that's great!
