If I had written this article I would have ti<x>tled it: The Monkeys seek to question the flunkies...

"Universities have a moral and legal obligation to ensure students do not use campus computers for illegal downloading” said Smith. ".............

This same bipartisan Congress had a moral obligation to stop a madman and end a war and look happened as recently as 5/4/07. Yet they have the time and enthusiasm to be aggressive on behalf another corp of legalized thugs and criminals--RIAA-MPAA--may they all burn in hell!

Maybe congress should look at the future minds of the country to understand that copyright and patent laws are broken and need some serious fixing. Maybe it should also look into the reason these copyright and patent laws are broken. They would quickly find that lobbying using money and not issues is shifting power from the poor to the rich. Their should never be a time where a politician can accept funds for the return of future privileges for that money it tips the fair balance of politics in favor of those with the money and removes power from the general population. If this issue was dealt with we would never be having this discussion as no laws we be in violation and students could continue worrying about their school work rather then the RIAA lawsuits.

This is an excellent reason why college students should vote! Surveys in my classes show that only 20% of eligible students voted in the last election! Dismal indeed. These old farts in Congress are way out of touch with today's youth and still very much in the back pockets of the big corporations. They should be working on ways to get us out of Iraq and to punish those lying sacks of crap who got us in there in the first place. I would say that the murdering (there's no better word) of our youth in that desert is much more of a concern than whether the RIAA or MPAA gets all of their big bucks. Make note of their names and vote them out! People only pay attention to things that affect them personally and that's too bad because by the time it affects you personally it's usually too late. Just because there's no draft doesn't mean that college kids can sit back party and ignore it all. Get involved! Maybe this will wake some up. I only hope that--once again--it's not too late.
