Anti-P2P organization tries to use humor to do what scare tactics have so far failed to do.
The Business Software Alliance (BSA), the anti-file-sharing organization that represents a number of the world’s largest software developers and whose main purpose is to fight copyright infringement, has produced a new anti-P2P that tries to use humor to do what dodgy scare tactics have so far failed to do.
“It uses comedy to convey what is a serious message,” Peter Beruk, the BSA’s chief anti-piracy marketer told Wired. “It’s experimental.”

Considering some of the foolish campaigns coming from other groups like the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) for example, with it’s outlandish “Don’t Copy that Floppy” high jinks, “To Catch a Pirate BIZARRE!!” is pretty well conceived.
It’s also a step up from it’s recent “Faces of Internet Piracy” video where one poor guy had his TVs, computers, boat, and even (gasp) Hummer confiscated by authorities for copyright infringement.
Stay tuned.

Very funny stuff. Its also focusing on people pirating for commercial enterprises, which I support to initiative to stamp out. If you are making money off the software you should be buying it.
Exactly, there’s piracy, copying and selling for a profit, and then file-SHARING, distributing with no financial gain.
If the RIAA/MPAA wants to make some real money why don’t they just sue the industries that actually have the money but don’t spend it? Vs a 90 year old lady and her 12 year old daughter?
..just sayin.
Did they just compare pirates to pedophiles? That entire ad is pathetic.
Experimental indeed.
Here’s an experimental idea, why don’t you bring your business into the 21st century. They like your software, not your business model.
wtf: did he just said: ‘can’t wait to get her software on your harddrive’? does anybody else except me know, what this means? right. you can’t have a date without the content industry paying interest. how many more things saying in a chat might bring up some creepy idiots offending innocent citizens and invading back yards?
