GGF to Acquire More BitTorrent Tracker Sites?

CEO Hans Pandeya says company “will try to buy as many torrent sites as possible.”

Global Gaming Factory CEO Hans Pandeya’s plan for acquiring Swedish BitTorrent tracker site the Pirate Bay doesn’t just stop there. In an interview given recently to TorrentFreak he says that he also plans to acquire other, presumably larger, torrent sites as well.

“We will try to buy as many torrent sites as possible,” he said to TF.

Being that GGF intends to turn the Pirate Bay into a legal online content destination it only seems logical that once it’s successful it would try to capture more market share by acquiring the competition.

GGF supposedly has enough investors to finalize the Pirate Bay deal on the 27th, so it could certainly have enough cash left over to buy other torrent sites.

The only question is whether or not it makes sense.

The Pirate Bay already has all the visitors and public exposure that GGF needs. All it really needs to be concerned with is price and selection. It’s essentially competing against other, obviously illegal, torrent sites that offer content for free. It’ll have to make content available at a price low enough that’ll encourage consumers to buy.

Stay tuned.

Fore more on GGF’s plans, here’s a lengthy video interview given just after the deal was first announced.

Still living in ignorance. Seriously can they be that stupid? Until they start providing what consumers want there will always be a form of torrents or downloading.
Just give us a product at a fair price that we can use the way we want to use them.
Sure there will still be people who want everything for free but that number would be far less than now.
All there efforts will fail because even if it were possible for them to succeed, consumers are fed up with being screwed.
