From my experience of a Court Interpreter O know that everyone has a right to make recordings of own conversations and it is better to initiate that conversation. That is what Vancouver City Police is doing when speaking to somebody who wants to find a cheap killer and inevitably ends up talking to the policeman.
Mr. Justice Leask allowed some gangsters to be freed because RCMP obtained permission to intercept communication under false pretenses.
Human Wrongs Commission in Ontario has been using stolen internet access to post provocative messages on private sites, just to catch people who would respond making some racists or antisemitic comments. Commission had to admit that at the doorstep of federal Court, facing obstruction of justice and other charges.
I am surprised that when Social Credit was in Power, NDP hired private investigators at the cost of about $200,000 to intercept cellphone conversations of Attorney genera of BC at the time, layer Bud Smith and his female journalist. Conversations were put into the pueblo domain, Bud Smith resigned, but nobody was charged eight intercepting communications between third parties! Some people are Holy Cows who are more equal!
My advice is to avoid having secrets and choose friends carefully.

Bill C-47
Get this Bill taken down, it will take away Canadians ability to speak out about injustices or put input into improving our lives, via the internet!
In other words this Bill will kill our Freedom of speech!

Also via this Bill our conversations will be eligible to be forwarded to Foreign Countries and Governments!

This is in violation to our right to privacy rights!
Outside foreign governments are attempting to dictate law and policy to Canada - this is illegitimate and we need to nip it in the bud!

Especially in these times, with corrupt organizations like the United Nations around!

[...] Sadlypears for many that the governing party let Canadians down upon review of both surveillance bills. The response was swift as many Canadian newspapers responded by making mast-head editorials [...]

One other point to note. It's also very interesting that all of a sudden this is an appropriation bill, the Crown is funding infrastructure and fees for time when the Telco's have been adamant about not complying. What deals have been struck?

Besides all the obvious issues you've touched on, and I've participated in for years with the two predecessors, isn't it interesting how much more liberal this Conservative bill is than the two previous liberal bills?
