When AllOfMP3.com started getting hassled by Russian courts, they simply changed their name to MP3sparks.com and moved their servers to the Ukraine. When word of this breach of privacy becomes widespread, Rapidshare will (in order to stay in business) simply move their servers to a country where copyright laws are more “ambiguous.” FWIW, I think PirateBay is using their appeal time to find a new home as well.

there is so much more wrong with rapidshare that makes copy write the lest of their problems. Rapidshare is infested with Child porn linked from anonymous sites like 4chan.
I read somewhere that Identity theft information is traded via rapid share.
I wouldn’t doubt industry trade secrets or even government secrets are being transferred via rapidshare.
Ok that may be taking it a bit far,lol.

TorrentFreak had an earlier unconfirmed report. If you read this article to the end, you’ll know that I have a confirmed report with more accurate details.

This is evident from their article: “that this was likely to be accomplished by creative use of paragraph 101 of German copyright law.”

The word “likely” is what jumps out that it relies heavily on the earlier unconfirmed report. Rapidshare has since confirmed that it used the section of the law, but denied it had anything to do with the location of the servers. This is a significant fact that wasn’t available when TorrentFreak wrote the report (and consequently, wasn’t included there)

More details are known now than on the 25th and I’m reporting on the latest news and reviewing the earlier reports as well.

So really, I’m quite on time, thank you.
