The pretty much got it right with their Crunchroll parntership. Offering streams up to 720p an hour after the airing for everyone except people in japan. If the service becomes good enough, people will be using proxies to get in from other regions. Syncing the releases should be critical because it would defeat the purpose of pirating the content.
