For gPhone users BarTor is a new Android app that lets you browse your local DVD retailer, scan the bar codes of a desired flic, and then remotely download onto your PC.
BarTor lets you search by title in addition to bar code and is supported by both the uTorrent and Vuze BitTorrent client WebUIs.
Other features include:

- KTorrent – PHP and HTML Interfaces
- Sort By Publish Date or By Seeds and Leechers (Default)
- Purchase opportunities upon Barcode Lookup – Long Click result to open Browser.
- Choose maximum number of Torrent Search results (25 [Default], 50, 100, 250)
- Google Base product lookup
- Ability to omit results originating from certain torrent sites.
- Multiple “Client Sites” or uTorrent WebUI configurations.
- Download history
- Search history

This is an awesome application that would have never been developed on another network. Already Android is showing its strength as a cell phone platform.
And how is this different from that firefox plugin that linked Amazon to Piratebay?

The difference is you’re in a brick & mortar store instead of browsing an online store and that’s pretty much it. Just like the firefox plugin is great for people who browse Amazon and want to preview stuff before they buy this app is great for people who are mall rats or like to window shop at electronic stores like BestBuy.

Oh I totally get the “difference,” but that Amazon plug-in had such an uproar on how unethical it was to use. I don’t see this being any different, yet I’m yet to hear a word on it being bad.
just wait until truly catches on and it becomes part of the average crowd. Has so much potential.
