Let's face it Bit Torrent is not anywhere NEAR as big as Google! I don't think this will be as "big" as corporations want it to be. There is simply still not a viable market for downloads as they are now.Mabye in the future when a lot of things are worked out....like DRMhigh prices slow downloads etc.

@soul...Yeahit seems that the only thing the BT network is really good for is testing. It does not seem to do well as far as sales are concerned. Itunes even trumps them on that.

But the thing is until people are given a DRM free and affordable choice I don't see p2p going away anytime soon. Though I know that kind of thinking sticks in the craw of the cartels.

@Meyou
EXACTLY!

The only people who know how to configure and use a BitTorrent client server arent gonna pay for anything because they are already getting it for free. The people who would pay arent going to be able to port forward and evrythign else necessary to get it running.

Plus you know what I just thought of? How will ISPs that currently throttle BT traffic be convinced that there is a legal kind that should be allowed through? How many people cant use BEN because they have an ISP who wouldnt allow them even if they wanted to? Hmmm hadnt though of that.

My dad has that "Clearwire" service back home and the average BT DL connection speed was like 10kb/s....

@soul....good point. I never thought of ISP's being able to distinguish a "legal" bit torrent stream (or one that had legal content) from an "illegal' one!

How exactly are they going to tell what is legal and illegal? I don't think the technology is here yet to do that ....is it? Even with packet sniffing?

It seems that this would create more problems than it would solve. But whatever I wish anyone luck in at least trying to change the cartels minds about downloading stuff on the internet. If they could only get them to see the light on DRM and pricingthey would be off and running!
