'Don't Copy that Floppy!'

Hilarious PSA from 1992 with a rapper singing "Don't Copy that Floppy!" Get ready to hit the floor laughing.

I about fell out of my chair laughing when I saw this PSA direct from 1992, not only because it reminded me about how cheesy we used to dress, but also how funny it is that the argument is the same now as it was back then.

What's strange is to think of how much different things were back then, a time before the internet, if you can imagine it, and before P2P and file-sharing services like BitTorrent.

Even without P2P apparently illegal "file-copying" was a big concern, which makes me wonder what they would've thought if you told them about how the world would be in the year 2007.

In any event, here's the PSA video, be prepared to laugh.

  • #5    Wow. Almost 8 minutes to tell me to not copy floppies otherwise someone won't get paid. Linux guys get paid? I think I copied that floppy (or CD/DVD image). The programmers of 1992 would be in for quite a surprise if snatched out of 1992 and brought to 2007. What a time warp.

  • #10    Wasn't Neverwinter Nights released in 2002? Ten years in development? That's either an incredibly long time for product development or a really inaccurate dating of the PSA.

  • #11    Neverwinter night? I don't know what you're talking about but, the music and the outfits speaks for themselves.............they're definitely not from 2002 :)
