You no longer need the patch to have Xolox work. Rumor has it that in light of the recent Dutch Court of Appeals ruling and the self destruction of both Morpheus and KaZaa, the XoloX folks have been preparing for a relaunch sometime soon (with kudos to xenomorph and zeropaid for keeping XoloX on the radar). They have been working on an updated “official” version that will also deploy the 0.6 handshake along with other new features.
It looks like the first step was to prep a new website (they took down the old one) and reawaken the nearly million Xolox clients that have already been downloaded by users last year.
I understand that they may be releasing a beta prior to relaunch to all their supporters–so certainly Zeropaid and ZP members will be the first to know. Looks like the stage has been set for the Comeback of the Year. This will be interesting to watch–and just when you thought that P2P could not get any more interesting.

Zeropaid has been very helpful in promoting XoloX, it is therefore that
we want to keep you updated on the rumors of a possible re-launch. There
are indeed plans for a restart of XoloX. In what form and at what term
we will be able to reveal soon. We will keep you posted of updates as
they develop. We will also contact you to see if we can provide some
promotion for zeropaid as our way of thanking you for the support you
showed us while we were gone. We plan on getting a beta out of the new
update to many of the Zeropaid participants before distributing the
“release” version.
