Do you yearn to have a bit more clarity on your television while watching movies? Do you feel you could tweak the view a bit and get more out of your shows?
Then Datacolor has definitely created something you will have an interest in. SpyderTV offers you options that some standard TVs don’t. If you have a home theater setup this is an excellent product for you to look into.
What exactly do you get with SpyderTV? It comes with a software CD, SpyderTV colorimeter, a suction cup/tripod attachment, SpyderTV test pattern and instructions (on DVD), storage bag, 2 year SpyderTV hardware warranty, free technical support and free software updates.
You must have a DVD player, remotes for the TV and DVD, a desktop or laptop PC that has Windows 2000 or XP operating system installed and the computer or laptop needs to be located near your television. You also need a USB port and the computer or laptop needs to have at least a Pentium II, 800 Mhz, 256 MB Ram and 100 MB of free drive space.
Not much to ask…but they also require that you have a video card that is at least a 1024×768 resolution. Most newer computers and laptops have these statistics as basics but if you have an older system and a home theater setup…it might be time to upgrade your other hardware.
The features of this SpyderTV program are pretty extensive. You work with an innovative SpyderTV “Colorimeter” which is the new standard for TV color accuracy. SpyderTV claims that they have scientifically determined with optimal settings for your system using the sliders that exist in the user menu of your television set. The hardware is designed in a very sleek and original format and this design offers effortless calibration for all types of TVs.
Datacolor states their calibration wizard software is easy-to-use and will walk you through the full optimization process (includes an intuitive interface with help screens to guide you through) which will help you find that perfect color setting.
SpyderTV offers a before and after view of the changes so that you can compare the settings and see how perfect it has become. This hardware supports Plasma, RPTV, DLP, LCD and CRT TVs so you have plenty of options when considering the product.

You can even print a report of the optimized settings or save the information so that you can return to that in the future if it’s ever changed. The product runs around $229 and is currently in stock.
