Most business computers can’t run Vista version of Windows: study

Most business computers in North America do not meet the minimum requirements to implement Microsoft’s new Windows Vista operating system software, according to a new report.

The analysis released on Thursday by the Toronto-based Softchoice Corp. found that half of the business PCs being used in North America today are incapable of handling Vista’s needs.

About 94 per cent are not able to run the premium version of Vista, the company found.

"This is a classic example of the glass half-full, glass half-empty situation," study author Dean Williams told CBC News Online on Thursday.

They just want you to pay $$$ for aesthetics and sugar-coated security holes. Just like in the past with almost every version of windows. I am not impressed In fact I prefer to NOT have a pretty interface that will eat up my memory and cpu time. its faster without all the little bells and whistles. Its said that Vista cant be run on most systems then huh? I wonder why…. You have to be running at least a 128mb video card just to enjoy the interface to say nothing about other installation requirements.

So lets do the math: say vista costs $400. but you dont have a graphics card or enough memory to run it as fast as you were running xp? than tag on an extra $150. plus ram plus you have to think about your cpu. 1.5ghz barely runs vista. so in fact you are no longer paying $400 for vista then ARE you???

    pffff…

“Its not like VIsta is the answer to some long standing crisis or glitch”

i believe that was the case with XP. anyone feel like unblocking those memories of ME?
the only thing i see good about vista is that it will bring forth the next “XP” and that one will fix everything wrong with vista.

So not only would they have to spend tons of money on vista but maybe millions to get new pcs looks like vista may not be as popular as some people think. most big companies have their systems all set up seems stupid to think they are going to go threw all the trouble to for vista
