ScrapeTorrent has undergone some cool changes recently, and the site ADMIN is allowing users to vote on what new functions to include in the final release.
The site reads:
To insure that 2.0 is exactly what the user wants, and to allow users to have an idea of what is being done and when 2.0 will be released, I’ve created a drawing board. Democracy, baby. With your help, ScrapeTorrent 2.0 should be done before Sunday, December 10th.
So far the only final feature planned is to make the “Results from about 8 high quality sites.”
In the meantime, fit has a number of excellent BETA features available that makes the search for BitTorrent torrent trackers even easier.
For non-donors there are 3 separate search options to choose from.
The first is the “Main” tab which is a generic search query that can be sorted by seeds, date, name, or size, and can be filtered by zero-seeders, duplicates, or porn. This is a big change form the previous format where all the results were lumped together and one had to manually search through all of them to find the torrent trackers you desired.
In the example below I did a search for the the television show “Lost.” filtering out zero-seeders, duplicates, and porn, and sorting the results by number of seeders.
As you can see in the screenshot, the results are much different than they were before. They are organized, sorted, and even have “Health” meters that give you a visual representation of what the health of the seeder to leecher ratio is. The image doesn’t show all of the torrent trackers listed but, even the lowest one on the page has a 9 seeders to 6 leechers ratio.
The second search option is the “Search” tab, and it allows you to sort the results by content type as well as all the ones mentioned before. You can choose from either “TV” or “Movies,” and then also by subcategories of each.
For movies you can further filter the results by DVDRIP, DVDR, TC, TS, or CAM. Below I show an example search for a DVDRip of the movie “The Departed,” with the results for the search shown to the right.
For TV shows you can further filter the results by season and episode, a very handy feature if you’re looking for an exact episode and don’t want to mess with all the fuss of scanning through the results like on Torrentspy or other public torrent tracker sites.
The following is an example search for the TV show “Dexter,” which is an awesome show by the way, specifically episode 10 of season 1. If you’ll the notice the results, there’s no messy search for trying to find the specific season or episode you desire, nor is there any clutter from non-related material like audio books or games.
The third, and final non-donor search option is a Firefox search plugin that it makes available. Normally torrent tracker search plugins consist of new toolbars bundled with spyware or adware but, not here. It’s simply a new site search option in Firefox’s Google search toolbar. No added bloatware or other tag along software, just another site search listing to use whenever you choose.
You can also add “sorting triggers” to you your search queries:
*s – Seeds, *n – Name, *d – Date, *z – Size.
So for example, to search for episodes of “The Office” sorted by the number of seeders, you’d enter “The Office *s.” It’s that easy.

Here’s a screenshot of what this search looks like using this Firefox plugin. Searching for torrent trackers is made to be as easy as Google, with quick and easy navigable results laid out in a coherent fashion.
ScrapeTorrent 2.0 BETA is a nice new way to search for torrent trackers, making the process even easier and more understandable than before.
If you’re currently one of those who use public torrent tracker sites as your mainstay, then this new ScrapeTorrent 2.0 BETA is the way to go.
