Oasys Mobile, an off-deck and white label mobile entertainment service, has recently announced an exclusive featuring Flavor Flav. The rapper first gained fame with Public Enemy in the 90s, is currently enjoying a fresh comeback. Just recently, Flav released a self-titled solo album on Halloween, a move that could rustle revenues from reenergized fans. Those that purchase the album at Wal-Mart will be offered a number of mobile extras, powered by Oasys. The selection includes a Flavor Flav voicetone and wallpaper, redeemable at oasysmobile.com/flavorflav. Buyers will also be encouraged to purchase additional assets. The Flavor Flav album is being distributed by Redeye Distribution.
The Flavor Flav character is an undeniably colorful one, though the rapper seemed to disappear in the mid-90s. After the popularity of Public Enemy waned, Flav reportedly battled a cocaine problem, among other issues, and rap fans moved on. During that period, Flavor Flav was also sparring with his label Def Jam, which refused to release his submitted solo albums.
