Verizon has been in talks with YouTube to continue working toward bringing the popular video source to their cellular service packages. Verizon hopes that YouTube will work with them on pushing the popular content on YouTube to Verizon customers via their cellphones.
This could be a great move for Verizon and could put them ahead of other cellular companies. Using the premium Vcast service, a customer would be able to view videos directly from the YouTube site.
The goal is to get exclusive rights to the idea for some time, and allow Verizon to get ahead of the rest. They also have mentioned using YouTube as an on-demand service they are offering with a TV service. If they are able to work through these two deals, Verizon would quickly become a choice for service due to the popularity of YouTube and the amount of “addicts” that are out there watching videos. Such a popular site coupled with a large company could open many doors.
