DCFC, Sub Pop Down With Bittorrent

Seattle indie titans Death Cab For Cutie and their hometown brethren, the revered Sub Pop Records, have both posted exclusive material via controversial P2P service Bittorrent. Death Cab posted an exclusive EPK featuring videos, interviews and assorted behind-the-scenes footage.

Similarly, Sub Pop has set up a profile offering high-quality music videos and mp3s from the likes of the Thermals, Iron and Wine, the Shins and more. This is the first time a record label has freely offered material via the rapidly growing service, although certain bands have embraced it previously. The Decemberists used Bittorrent to distribute video content and flagpole sittas Harvey Danger released an entire album through it as well.
