LimeWire has officially released LimeWire version 2.3.1. This is a major release with many improvements:
* New search tab makes powerful searches easier.
* Resume downloads on restart are working again.
* Flow control. Passes more important messages first. Searches will
be faster and better overall once this change is widely available.
* Fixed bug where settings were sometimes not being saved.
* Re-enabled “force resume” button for downloads in “requery sent”
state.
* OS/X version uses the native Quicktime media player.
* GUI only shows one upload per host per file from swarm downloads.
* Full HTTP/1.1 upload support to allow better swarming in the future.
* Java 1.4 will be used on Windows if installed. 1.4 is faster and
has mouse wheel support.
(Those wishing to try Java 1.4 can download the JRE here:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/download.html. LimeWire would need
to be (re)installed after this to make use of it.)
LimeWire Basic users might want to note that we are considering price increases on LimeWire PRO in the near future. We are still working to see what is the appropriate price for LimeWire PRO. We thank all users for their continuing support.
Thanks,
The LimeWire Team.
