A major part of Apple’s plans to launch a movie download service is a new widescreen version of the iPod for users to view films on. “A new iPod is going to be crucial to the success of this, along with some way of watching these films on your TV,” said Tom Dunmore of gadget magazine Stuff.
Apple is set to launch a film download service for computers and iPods.
It will allow customers to buy and download full-length films to their iPods legally for the first time.
The company is believed to have signed up most of the major Hollywood studios to the scheme, with Disney and Lions Gate expected to be among the pioneers.
