The Music Gestapo would like you to think that the court ruling declared ALL P2P software to encourage copyright infringement.

BUT that is not the case. The court ruled that grokster actively encouraged copyright infringement…in other words they advertised and encouraged people to download copyrighted material.

Just the existance of P2P software DOES NOT encourage copyright infringement. THAT was NOT declared by the Supreme Court.

i think the $150000 number is funny. again they demand an incalcuable number many times the country’s anual income. i can belive the “encourage” argument though. my sister started using limewire and she was convinced it was perfectly legal.

Has anyone looked at the results you get from Limewire Pro? It ENCOURAGES you to BUY MUSIC TRACKS and even give a link for a place that offers music for sale as well as having a built in filter that can be turned on. I really don’t see the RIAA winning this one easily becuse Limewire is not outright encouraging infringement! Matter of fact they are doing the opposite.

This sucks! Limewire is one of the best for music tracks
