Well it seems those crazy Euro pirates are throwing a shindig on August 7th in Stockholm, sweden to kick start what they feel will be a Fall just as exciting as this roller coaster of a Summer.
What’s all the celebration about you ask? well, in their words, the fact that “Copy Me, with texts from the Piratbyran, published exactly a year ago, will be reprinted in August. The first edition was sold out after only a few months.”
Added to the mix is that “Pirabyran (The Bureau of Piracy) has been closed by the state, left without it’s ordinary homepage and the re-emerged. We want to celebrate this.”
Can certainly say those pirates know how to keep their chins held high.
Piratbyran has listed details for the event on their site, which are as follows:
Piratbyan welcomes everyone that wants to party to one of our favorite hang-outs in Stockholm, the former movie theater Underbara Bar (Ostgotagatan 33, Underground stop at Medborgarplatsen), on Monday August 7, between 8pm and 1am.
No entrance (but wardrobe fee is mandatory), minimum age 18 years.
On stage is no other than Sweden’s best chip musician Goto80, with his arsenal of hardware and software, and an attitude that knocks walls over and lifts off roofs. His surprising C64 excesses in genres such as hit songs, dub and metal has resulted in many gasps. This summer Goto80 tour together with Jossystem, who will provide the visual arts at this event as well.
Be here early! Goto80 & Jossystem will begin their performance at 9pm, due to neighborhood related regulations. But after that, the music doesn’t stop. Our DJs (names will be presented shortly) will keep at it all night. On the menu is, for example, dancable mash up mixes – the music that no copyright legislation understand! See you on August 7!
Everybody knows that nobody parties like pirates do, and I’m sure plenty of wenches and rum are guaranteed to be in full swing and stock.
